Sodium naphthalene-1-acetate CAS 61-31-4
Sodium naphthalene-1-acetate, with CAS number 61-31-4, is a broad-spectrum and highly effective auxin-type plant regulator. It is mainly used for promoting rooting of cuttings, preventing flower drop and fruit shedding, increasing fruit size and yield, and enhancing resistance. It is low in toxicity and stable, and is widely used in agriculture and horticulture.
pH value: The aqueous solution is slightly alkaline (pH ≈ 8).
Stability: Stable at normal temperature and resistant to storage; stable in the pH 7–10 range.
Toxicity: Low toxicity, belonging to an environmentally friendly regulator.

1. Strong rooting (cutting / seedling cultivation)
Sodium naphthalene-1-acetate promotes the formation of adventitious roots and is used for cutting (grapes, fruit trees, ornamental plants), soaking seeds, and dipping roots during transplanting to increase survival rate.
Concentration: 10–200 ppm (depending on the crop), too high will inhibit root formation.
2. Flower and fruit preservation, prevention of drop
Sodium naphthalene-1-acetate prevents fruit drop (tomatoes, peppers, apples, pears), increases fruit setting rate.
Promotes flower bud differentiation, early flowering, and formation of seedless fruits.
3. Fruit enlargement and yield increase (ethylene precursor)
Sodium naphthalene-1-acetate promotes cell division and enlargement, significantly enlarges fruits (watermelons, kiwis, cucumbers), and root tubers / rhizomes (sweet potatoes, potatoes).
Improves yield, enhances quality, and strengthens drought / cold / disease resistance.
4. Others
Sodium naphthalene-1-acetate promotes chlorophyll synthesis, lush branches and leaves, and strong plants.
Often combined with potassium nitrophenol sodium, thiamulin, etc., for broader efficacy.
