What Is Butylnaphtalenesulfonic Acid Sodium Salt?

The scientific name of powder BX is sodium butylenaphthalene sulfonate, and the structural formula is very different. There are both sodium n-butyl naphthalene sulfonate and sodium isobutyl naphthalene sulfonate. There are two industrial production methods for pulling powder BX: ① naphthalene is sulfonated with sulfuric acid of the same weight to generate α- Naphthalenesulfonic acid is prepared by adding concentrated sulfuric acid and n-butanol at the same time under intense stirring, and then separating, neutralizing and evaporating. ② Naphthalene is mixed with n-butanol, concentrated sulfuric acid is added, neutralized and dried to form the finished product. This product is white and light yellow powder, easily soluble in water. It is stable in hard water, salt, acid and weak alkali solution, and white precipitates in concentrated caustic soda.can be dissolved again after being diluted with water. The product is anionic, with water content not exceeding 2%, iron content not exceeding 0.01%, and pH value of 1% aqueous solution 7~8.5. In addition to strong permeability, it also has the properties of emulsification, diffusion and foaming, poor cleaning capacity and poor dust suspension. This product can be widely used as penetrant in scouring, bleaching and dyeing processes. It can also be used as dye cosolvent, acid dye wool dyeing auxiliary, disperse dye wool dyeing auxiliary, nylon blended fabric dyeing auxiliary, disperse dye polyester/cotton blended fabric dyeing auxiliary.

Application

1. It is used as a wetting agent in the textile, printing and dyeing, leather and paper industries.
2. It can be used as detergent, dyeing aid, dispersant, wetting agent, insecticide, herbicide and emulsifier in synthetic rubber industry.
3. As a penetrating agent and wetting agent, it can be used in various processes in the textile printing and dyeing industry.
4. It can be used as a wetting agent in the papermaking and color lake industries. Adding 10% penetrant BX solution to the organic pigment is beneficial to the modulation of color paste. It is used as an emulsifier in the preparation of rubber slurry.
