What is Tolytriazole with CAS 29385-43-1?

Tolytriazole is white to off-white particles or powder, which is a mixture of 4-methylbenzotriazole and 5-methylbenzotriazole. Methyl-1h-benzotriazol is insoluble in water and soluble in alcohol, benzene, toluene, chloroform and other organic solvents. Soluble in dilute alkali solution.

Application

Tolytriazole is mainly used as an anti-rust agent and corrosion inhibitor for metals (such as silver, copper, lead, nickel, zinc, etc.).

Tolytriazole is widely used in anti-rust oil (grease) products, and COBRATEC(R) TT 100 is mostly used for vapor phase retarding of copper and copper alloys.

Corrosive circulating water treatment agent, automobile antifreeze, photographic anti-fog agent, polymer stabilizer, plant growth regulator, lubricating oil additive, ultraviolet absorber.

This methyl-1h-benzotriazol can also be used in conjunction with a variety of scale inhibitors and bactericidal algaecides, especially for corrosion inhibition in closed circulation cooling water systems.
