Tert-dodecylthiol TDM CAS 25103-58-6
Tert-dodecylthiol, with CAS number 25103-58-6, is an efficient molecular weight regulator. It can effectively control the molecular weight of polymers in emulsion polymerization and suspension polymerization systems, resulting in a narrow molecular weight distribution and excellent product stability. Tert-dodecylthiol is compatible with various polymer systems such as ABS, SBR, NBR, and acrylic emulsion. One product can cover multiple production lines. Tert-Dodecyl mercaptan has a shelf life of 12 months when stored in a dark environment. It is not prone to oxidation (but still needs to be isolated from air and oxidants).

1. Polymerization of high molecular compounds (core application, accounting for the majority of demand)
- ABS resin: Mainstream application of tert-dodecylthiol as a chain transfer agent, used to control the molecular weight of ABS, improve impact strength, fluidity, and optimize injection molding performance.
- Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and nitrile rubber (NBR): Emulsion polymerization for adjusting molecular weight, enhancing rubber elasticity and tensile strength.

A: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse, away from heat sources, oxidants, and air to prevent oxidation; the original sealed drum has a shelf life of 12 months.
Q: Is the odor strong? Will it contaminate the container?
A: It has a characteristic odor of mercaptan; qualified hazardous packaging drums are well sealed and will not leak during normal shipping. If the drum is damaged, the odor will spread, and handling must be done gently.
Q: How is the solubility in water solutions?
A: It is almost insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as hydrocarbons and esters.
