Fatty Acids Soya CAS 68308-53-2
Fatty acids, soybean CAS 68308-53-2, a light yellow / pale yellow transparent oily liquid with an oily odor. In the paint industry, it can be used as a substitute for soybean oil in modifying alkyd resins, as well as in polyamide resins used in ink. It can also be used in the production of synthetic detergents.
Solubility: Soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers, benzene, and chloroform, but almost insoluble in water. It has carboxylic acid properties (can undergo esterification, saponification, and neutralization reactions).
Characteristics: High unsaturation, high iodine value, and high acid value; prone to oxidation and deterioration, easily changes color and goes rancid when exposed to heat or air for a long time; good lubricity, can be used as an emulsifying / surface modification raw material.
Essential difference: Not a single oleic acid, but a mixture of fatty acids derived from soybeans, mainly composed of polyunsaturated fatty acids.
