Caprylic/capric triglyceride CAS 73398-61-5
Caprylic/capric triglyceride CAS73398-61-5, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride is a type of medium-chain fatty acid composed of glycerol and "caprylic acid (C8)" and "capric acid (C10)". The monoester compounds formed through esterification reactions, collectively known as "octyl and decanoic acid", belong to the derivatives of medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) and are widely used in the fields of food, cosmetics and medicine.
Appearance white or light yellow powder. Melting point 335-342 ℃, slightly soluble in alcohol, ether, almost insoluble in water. This product is mainly used to replace decabromodiphenyl ether flame retardant, which can be used in HIPS, ABS resin and plastic PVC, PP, etc.

1. Food industry (main field)
Emulsifier: Caprylic Capric Triglyceride is used in milk beverages (such as soy milk, lactic acid bacteria beverages), ice cream, cream, salad dressings, etc., to prevent oil-water separation and enhance the smoothness of the texture.
Stabilizer: Caprylic Capric Triglyceride is used in baked goods (such as cakes and bread) to delay the aging of starch and extend the shelf life.
Nutritional fortifier: Caprylic/capric triglyceride is used in infant formula milk powder and special medical purpose foods (such as postoperative nutritional supplements), providing easily absorbed medium-chain fatty acids and supplementing energy.
It complies with food-grade standards (such as Chinese GB 2760) and is allowed to be used in various foods in appropriate amounts as required by production.
2. Cosmetics and Personal Care
Emulsifier/co-emulsifier: Caprylic/capric triglyceride is used in toners, lotions, face creams, sunscreens, etc., to prepare refreshing and non-sticky oil-in-water (O/W) type lotions, especially suitable for oily and combination skin products.
Solvent/Carrier: Caprylic/capric triglyceride is used in essence and essential oil products to dissolve fat-soluble active ingredients (such as vitamin E, plant extracts) and promote their absorption by the skin.
Moisturizer: Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, when used in hand cream and lipsticks, can form a film on the skin surface, reducing water loss and providing a mild moisturizing effect.
3. The medical field
Pharmaceutical excipients (emulsifiers/solubilizers) : Caprylic Capric Triglyceride is used in oral emulsions (such as fat emulsion injections), topical ointments, creams, etc., to help drug components (especially fat-soluble drugs) disperse evenly, improve drug stability and bioavailability;
Bacteriostatic agent (auxiliary) : Caprylic Capric Triglyceride has weak bacteriostatic activity and can inhibit the growth of some bacteria (such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus). In pharmaceutical preparations, it can assist in enhancing the effect of preservatives.
Usually packed in 25kg/drum,and also can be do customized package.
