1. Coatings and Ink Industry (Main Applications): 3-Methyl-3-methoxybutanol used as a high boiling film-forming agent and coupling solvent for latex paint, water-based paint, industrial coatings, printing ink, and inkjet ink.
2. Cleaning agents and chemical industry: 3-Methyl-3-methoxybutanol used in household and industrial cleaning agents, hard surface cleaning agents, and degreasers to help dissolve grease and dirt and improve formula stability.
3. Cosmetics and personal care products: Because of its high boiling point and low volatility, 3-Methyl-3-methoxybutanol can be used as a fixative for essence to extend the duration of aroma. 3-Methyl-3-methoxybutanol is used in nail polish, perfume, lotion and other products as a solvent for dyes and active ingredients.
4. Chemical synthesis: As an organic synthesis intermediate, 3-Methyl-3-methoxybutanol is used to produce other specialty chemicals.
