Dissolve strontium carbonate in hydrochloric acid and concentrate to obtain needle shaped hexahydrate strontium chloride crystals (<60 ℃) or sheet-like dihydrate strontium chloride crystals (>60 ℃). Hydrates can be heated to 100 ℃ to obtain anhydrous strontium chloride.
