Water Treatment and Metal Corrosion Inhibition: Sodium mercaptobenzothiazole solution is a key corrosion inhibitor in industrial circulating water, boiler water and oilfield water injection systems, especially demonstrating outstanding corrosion inhibition effects on copper and copper alloys. Sodium Mercaptobenzothiazole SMBT can prevent metal pipes and equipment from developing rust or perforation due to corrosion.
In the rubber industry: Sodium mercaptobenzothiazole, as a vulcanization accelerator, can accelerate the reaction rate between rubber and vulcanizing agents, shorten the vulcanization time, and simultaneously enhance the elasticity, wear resistance and anti-aging performance of rubber products. It is often used in the processing of natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber and other rubbers.
