Arbutin is a hydroquinone glycoside compound, the chemical name is 4-Hydroquinone-alphaChemicalbook-D-glucopyranoside, which exists in bearberry, bilberry and other plants. It is a new non-irritating, non-allergic and highly compatible natural whitening active substance.

Alpha-arbutin is a chemical, similar to arbutin, that inhibits the production and deposition of melanin, and removes pigmentation and freckles. Studies have shown that -arbutin can inhibit the activity of tyrosinase at a relatively low concentration, and its inhibitory effect on tyrosinase is better than that of arbutin. Alpha-arbutin can be used in cosmetics as a whitening agent.
