1. Ion Exchange Resins: Water softening and purification, chemical catalysis, metal recovery. The most classic applications utilize sulfonic acid groups to exchange cations in water or solution.
2. New Energy and Conductive Materials: Proton exchange membranes for fuel cells, flow batteries, lithium/sodium battery binders. Provides proton conduction channels or serves as an environmentally friendly water-based electrode binder.
3. Electronics and Optoelectronics: PEDOT: PSS conductive film (used in OLEDs, solar cells, printed electronics). This is one of its highest-value applications, used as a key material in the manufacture of transparent conductive films.
4. Water Treatment and Daily Chemicals: Water treatment dispersants/flocculators, daily chemical antistatic agents/thickeners. Utilizes its polymer properties and charge-dependent effects.
5.Biopharmaceuticals: Drug carriers, pharmaceutical excipients, high-end therapeutic drugs (such as lanthanum polystyrene sulfonate). Utilizes pH-responsive drug release control or serves as a phosphorus binder.
1. Excellent water solubility and film-forming properties
2. Strong ion exchange capacity
3. Good proton conductivity
