POLY(METHYLENE-CO-GUANIDINE), HYDROCHLORIDE CAS 55295-98-2
POLY(METHYLENE-CO-GUANIDINE), HYDROCHLORIDE cas no 55295 98 2, also known as BWD-01 Water Decoloring Agent. BWD-01 is a colorless or light yellow solid substance with excellent heat resistance, chemical corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. The solubility of BWD-01 is relatively poor. It is insoluble in water but can dissolve in some organic solvents. Widely used in industry, BWD-01 can be used as an adhesive, coating, preservative and filling material, etc. It can also be used to prepare high-temperature resistant materials, fibers and rubber products, etc.

1. Core application: Water treatment field (main application scenarios
This polymer, due to the presence of cationic groups (such as guanidine groups and methylene bonds) in its molecular structure, possesses strong adsorption and charge neutralization capabilities, making it an efficient functional agent in industrial water treatment. Its specific applications include
Wastewater decolorization The BWD-01 water decoloring agent is designed for "colored wastewater" generated in industries such as printing and dyeing, textile, papermaking, dye and chemical engineering (such as reactive dye and acid dye wastewater). It can rapidly adsorb pigment molecules and organic chromogenic groups in water, reducing the color intensity of the wastewater (the decolorization rate can reach 80%-95%). It is one of the core reagents for the pretreatment of this type of high-color wastewater.
Flocculation clarification As a cationic flocculant, BWD-01 water decoloring agent can neutralize the negative charge of suspended particles (such as sludge and colloidal impurities) in water, promote the aggregation of particles to form large flocs, and rapidly separate them through sedimentation or filtration to improve the transparency of wastewater. It is often used in the "solid-liquid separation" process of papermaking wastewater, electroplating wastewater and food processing wastewater.
Removal of organic pollutants and heavy metals The BWD-01 water decoloring agent has chelating or adsorption effects on some organic small molecules (such as phenols, alcohols) and heavy metal ions (such as Cu²⁺, Pb²⁺, Cr³⁺) in wastewater, and can assist in reducing the COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and heavy metal content of wastewater. Meet the requirements of subsequent biochemical treatment or discharge standards.
2. Materials processing field: Adhesives and additives
Based on the active groups within its molecules (such as amino groups and methylene groups), this polymer can be used as a functional additive or adhesive in material preparation:
Wood/board adhesive: After further cross-linking with formaldehyde, BWD-01 can form a bonding system with strong water resistance, replacing part of the traditional urea-formaldehyde resin and being used in the production of artificial boards (such as plywood and fiberboard) to enhance the moisture resistance and mechanical strength of the boards.
Coatings and coating additives: When BWD-01 is added to metal anti-corrosion coatings and concrete protective coatings, it can enhance the adhesion and chemical corrosion resistance of the coating (such as resistance to erosion in acidic and alkaline environments). Meanwhile, its cationic properties can assist in the uniform dispersion of the coating on the substrate surface, reducing coating defects.
3. Other industrial auxiliary uses
In the papermaking industry, BWD-01, as a "wet strength agent" or "sizing assistant" for paper, can combine with the hydroxyl groups in the pulp fibers to enhance the wet strength of the paper (preventing it from breaking easily when exposed to water), while also assisting in controlling the loss of fine fibers in the pulp and improving the quality of paper formation.
Metal surface treatment: In electroplating or metal rust prevention processes, BWD-01 can be used as a "passivator" or "complexing agent" to form a thin protective film on the metal surface, reducing metal oxidation and rusting and improving the uniformity of the coating.
Textile auxiliaries: BWD-01 is used for "anti-wrinkle finishing" or "color fixing agent" of textiles. Through cross-linking with fiber and dye molecules, it enhances the anti-wrinkle property of fabrics and reduces dye shedding during the washing process (improving color fastness).
