Chemical formula LiBO2. Molecular weight 49.75. Colorless triclinic crystal with pearl luster. The melting point is 845℃, and the relative density is 1.39741.7. Dissolved in water. Above 1200℃, it begins to decompose. Lithium oxide is formed. Its octahydrate is a colorless trigonal crystal with a melting point of 47°C and a relative density of 1.3814.9. Preparation method: It can be prepared by melting the stoichiometric amount of lithium hydroxide or lithium carbonate and boric acid. Uses: making ceramic materials.
