Its chemical name is N.N-bis(carboxymethyl)-L-glutamic acid tetrasodium salt. It is a new green chelating agent that is biodegradable and can be used to replace ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), diethyltriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA), nitrogen traditional chelating agents such as NTA.
