Dioctyl adipate, abbreviated as DOA, is a diester of dicarboxylic acid. At normal temperature and pressure, dioctyl adipate is a colorless oily liquid and can be regarded as a diester formed by one molecule of adipic acid and two molecules of n-octanol. It is commonly used as a plasticizer.

Dioctyl adipate is a typical cold-resistant plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene copolymers, polystyrene, nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose and synthetic rubber. Dioctyl adipate has high plasticizing efficiency, small color change when heated, and can endow products with good low-temperature flexibility and light resistance. The products have good hand feel and possess cold resistance, low-temperature flexibility and light resistance.
Dioctyl adipate is used as an excellent cold-resistant plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride and can endow products with excellent low-temperature flexibility.
1. Outstanding low-temperature cold resistance: Dioctyl Adipate can keep materials such as PVC flexible and not brittle at extremely low temperatures ranging from -50 ℃ to -60 ℃, making it suitable for outdoor cold-resistant hoses, low-temperature cable sheaths and other scenarios.
2. High environmental safety: Dioctyl Adipate does not contain restricted phthalate substances and complies with standards such as the EU REACH and the US FDA. It can be used in safety-sensitive fields such as food contact films, medical hoses, and children's toys.
3. Good compatibility and processability: Dioctyl Adipate is compatible with various resins such as PVC and PVA, and can also be compounded with other plasticizers. Moreover, during processing, it can enhance the fluidity of the material, making the surface of the product smoother, and is suitable for multiple processes such as extrusion and injection molding.
