Oil and Wax Decolorization
Acid activation develops the bentonite's internal surface and adsorption properties. In oil treatment, the clay contacts the liquid and adsorbs selected colour bodies and impurities. The loaded solid is subsequently removed by filtration. Its industrial role combines liquid treatment with the removal of the spent adsorbent from the production stream.
Industrial Applications
Mineral Oil Finishing
Acid-activated bleaching earth is used for colour reduction in mineral-oil finishing. The clay contacts the oil and captures selected unwanted components. Filtration separates the loaded adsorbent from the treated oil. Treatment results depend on incoming oil quality and operating conditions.
Paraffin and Wax Processing
Bleaching clay is used in the decolorization of paraffins and waxes. Treatment takes place while the material is molten. The adsorbent is separated after contact with the liquid wax. Wax composition and incoming colour affect the finished appearance.
Vegetable and Animal Oil Processing
Bleaching earth is used to reduce pigments and selected residual impurities in vegetable and animal oils. It operates within a refining sequence that may include degumming, neutralization and deodorization. Upstream treatment affects the impurity load reaching the clay. Suitability for a particular oil-processing application depends on the supplied grade.
Filtration and Oil Retention
After bleaching, the clay forms a filter cake containing captured impurities and retained liquid. Filtration behaviour affects production throughput, while liquid remaining in the spent cake contributes to material loss. These properties depend on the clay grade, feedstock and separation conditions.
Storage and Handling
Store bleaching earth in closed packaging in a dry area, protected from moisture and contamination. Keep it separate from strong-smelling materials. Limit dust during opening and transfer, following the supplied SDS and the site's handling requirements.

Procurement FAQ
Do you accept laboratory orders?
No. Laboratory projects, laboratory orders and reagent retail purchases are outside our supply scope.
Can you help coordinate a factory visit?
Yes. Access to production areas, the records available for review and visit timing are arranged with the manufacturing site.
Is CS-14 interchangeable with K10?
Interchangeability with K10 is not established for CS-14. Both the specified grade and its application requirements remain relevant.
